Biography

Marlon Moreno (b. Leon, Nicaragua, 1985) is a Nicaraguan based interdisciplinary artist working in installations, sculptures, and video. His work is informed by the rich traditional heritage of Nicaragua and focuses on the complexities that globalization brings to his country reshaping culture and established values. He is a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts, Rodrigo Peñalba in Managua, Nicaragua with a degree in sculpture. Currently, he is a Senior studying Interdisciplinary Sculpture at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from the art school in Managua, he was one of the founders of the community art school, Taller Artístico Xuchialt, in his home city of Leon. He has shared his art and culture in Nicaragua and the USA through exhibitions, collaborative residencies with international nonprofit organizations, and cultural activities with the Embassy of Nicaragua.
